Children's fables are a favorite with my girls. This particular fable describes how Santa met his wife and then skips to the present to show that the Christmas magic is slowly fading. Mary plays an important role in re-igniting the Christmas spirit with the help of elves and a talking reindeer! I'd say that this is among the best animal stories for kids around ages 9-12. It's a very engaging childrens ebook that they are sure to cherish.
The thought of saving Christmas is one full of hope. It means that in spite of negativity and adversity everything will work out and in this regard this book lives up to its name. I enjoyed reading it and I am happy I opted to buy it. In addition to this the bonus stories were also quite a treat!
What a delightful Christmas Story!! I really enjoyed reading this book by Morris Fenris. This book is how Santa Claus met first his wife Mary and some years later met Rudolph. Rudolph was Mary's horse and faithful companion. This is a story how Christmas was saved one year. The Spirit of Christmas Time came back to the North Pole when a reunion happened. Such a cute little Story to be read out loud to the family any time.
Morris Fenris has taken a beloved Christmas icon and rewritten Santa's history with a delightful twist. I wanted to find some great holidays stories to kick the season off and this book was not disappointing. Hot Cocoa and great stories go hand-in-hand. Loving and heart-warming, Saving Christmas has it all when it comes to Christmas stories. My daughter loved the romantic twist on Santa's relationship with his wife. This kids short story was such a fun read for my preteen kids that they believe this is a top preteen book! They recommend it highly!
Honestly, I did not read much of this book. I was reading a review and someone mentioned that the second book was about lies and deception. So I skipped the first story and started peeking at the second story. I was skimming along and when I came to a certain scene I knew that this Christmas tale was not for me. (Even though I've owned it for a few years!) I will not tell you much about the scene. But it involves a woman walking in on her man in the middle of a sex act with another woman. It concerns me that people are saying that these stories are great for reading to your children. Or for teens and young adults to read. Flipping ahead I found even more sex. This is NOT a children's story in any way shape or form. Again, I skipped the first story. It might be ok for kids. But I cannot recommend this author as a children's author. The cover looks kid friendly. The cover looks very fun and festive. I just wanted to make sure that everyone realizes that this book is not as innocent as it looks!

I purchased* these books as a Hallmark movie substitute since I am living abroad and unable to be home for Christmas. As far as cheese factor, these stories deliver. If you want quality writing, look elsewhere. I honestly wonder if the author has an editor. If not, I would suggest he find one. The number of run on sentences is maddening.

The book description, cover and reviews suggest that this book is appropriate for children of all ages. Some parents might argue that it is not at all appropriate for children, but rather suited to young adults and adults.
There are four parts. In the first, readers meet a girl named Mary who generally spends Christmas alone. On Christmas Eve, she is out for a ride on her horse when she hears a strange noise and meets with an accident resulting in her being thrown from her horse. When she wakes up, Mary finds herself in a strange cabin with a white haired man. She is surrounded by unfamiliar sights and sounds. The second story features Mrs. Claus at the North Pole many years later supervising the elves on Christmas Eve. She experiences a strange sense of foreboding and a dramatic change in Santa's personality. Part Three leads Mary to a sleigh ride in order to find Santa's mother. The reindeer Vixen knows that she will be able to save Christmas. Finally in the fourth part, Mary realizes her true role and the reader learns what happened to Mary's horse on the night of her accident.
The stories contain many run on sentences and grammar that needs some editing. It is difficult to classify the genre of these stories. Elements of romance, mystery, and adventure, but definitely not a kids book. This book contains some familiar characters and symbols, but adults should be aware of multiple layers of meaning and some inappropriate language.
